What happens to your writing

Your drafts are private to your account. ProseMap sends the text you submit to an AI model provider to analyse it, stores the text and the results so you can reopen them, and deletes them when you ask. We do not sell your data, show ads, or use your writing to train models.

Dictated audio is streamed for transcription and is not stored by ProseMap. Only the resulting text is kept, as part of your note.

Who else processes it

ProseMap relies on these companies. Each receives only what its job needs.

Text sent to Anthropic is processed under its commercial terms. Model providers may keep inputs and outputs for a limited period, typically up to 30 days, for safety and abuse monitoring before deleting them. That retention is the provider's and is not something ProseMap can shorten. If a draft must not leave your own systems at all, do not submit it.

What we do not do

Cookies and analytics

ProseMap stores what it needs to keep you signed in and to remember your settings. Those are necessary for the app to work.

We also use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It is asked for, not assumed: until you choose Allow, no analytics cookie is set and Google receives only cookieless, aggregate signals. If you allow it, Google sets a cookie to tell one visit from another. Page addresses are sent without anything after the question mark, so invitation and report links are never included, and nothing you write is ever sent. You can change your answer at any time with the Cookie choices link at the foot of any page.

Deleting

You can delete any saved analysis from the app, which removes its text, results and notes. You can delete your whole account from the Account screen: that removes your drafts, analyses, notes, settings and unused credit at once. Copies may persist in routine database backups for a short period before they are overwritten. Records of charges are retained without your name or email address.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, for it to be corrected, or for it to be deleted, by writing to support@prosemap.io. Analyses can also be exported from the app as JSON at any time. If you are in the EU or UK you also have the right to object to processing and to complain to your data protection authority.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what happens to your writing, we will say so in the app before the change takes effect.
