ProseMap vs Grammarly: you stay the writer

The AI assists. You write.

Many AI writing tools give you a new text and ask you to accept it. After a few rounds, the writing sounds like the tool and not like you.

ProseMap works the other way round. First it reads your draft and shows you a map: which sentences work, which do not, and where one sentence does not lead to the next. You decide what matters. You can leave notes, by typing or by speaking, and you can tell it when it is wrong.

Only then, if you want, you press Improve draft. ProseMap changes the weak spots and nothing else. Every other sentence stays word for word. It scores the new version and puts the two side by side, so you can see what changed and keep the one you like.

You do the writing and the thinking. The AI helps you deliver it.

What Grammarly does

Grammarly checks writing as you type, across the apps you write in. It corrects grammar, spelling and punctuation, suggests clearer or more concise phrasing, and comments on tone. Its suggestions are local: this word, this sentence, this comma.

What ProseMap does

ProseMap reads a whole draft and scores every sentence from 0 to 100 on how well it works where it stands, scores every join between sentences as a handoff, and adds one judgment of the document's arc. It shows this as a map in which weak stretches are visible at a glance, ranks the places where a revision would pay off most, and explains any judgment on request. It does not correct grammar or spelling. How the scoring works.

Which to use

Use Grammarly to get the sentences right. Use ProseMap to find out which sentences, however right, are not earning their place, and where the piece stops moving. Many writers will want both, at different stages: ProseMap on a draft that is structurally unsettled, a grammar checker on the final pass.
